Ninety years have taught me this,
Old age can be a time of bliss,
Truth to tell, I’ve lost ability,
But naught compares with frank senility.
Everyone will show you kindness,
Even though you’re frankly mindless.
Make mistakes? Make no excuses.
They’ll love you even though you’re useless.
Can’t think of more to write a sonnet?
‘Cause no brain’s beneath your bonnet?
Just write another nonsense rhyme,
And folks will praise you all the time!
